Project for Hyundai

South Korean automobile company Hyundai Motor Company is the largest automaker in the country and the fourth largest in the world. Hyundai is part of the Hyundai Motor Group conglomerate, established in 2000.

Hyundai owns a number of car plants in South Korea (including the world’s largest car assembly plant in Ulsan), North America, Turkey, India, China, Russia, Czech Republic and Brazil.

We were introduced through the digital agency NotaMedia, thanks to their feedback Hyundai approached us to create a mobile application, which eventually attracted thousands of visitors at the major automotive exhibition held at the Moscow International Motor Show (MMAS 2014) in CROCUS EXPO.

GOALS

The app was intended to:

  • Engage audience
  • Boost Hyundai popularity
  • Inject the lead data into a CRM platform
  • Promote the event in the social media

THE CHALLENGES WE FACED

Within a little more than one month, our team had to solve the following tasks:

  • Design interface development
  • Back End and Front End development
  • Testing
  • Software development for Windows and Android-based NFC-desks
  • Additional app development for wristband activation and registration of the members

FIND YOUR SOLARIS GAME

Hyundai has 11 NFC points. In order to interact with them, a visitor gets an NFC wristband, downloads the app, registers by E-mail/phone number and enters the game.

FIND YOUR HYUNDAI RULES

  1. The user gets an in-app notification with instructions to find the car in question.
  2. Once the car has been located, the user confirms this with their NFC wristband. They then need to find tips inside the car and answer a question.
  3. When the task is completed, the user gets another one.
  4. After all tasks have been done, the user makes a selfie with a Huyndai car in the background and shares it on social media.

APPLICATION DEVELOPMENT

This application was created in the shortest possible time. This project was completely on our team in terms of development, analytics, description of the script, design. A cloud service based on the Facebook cloud was chosen to implement the Back End. This service was used to store data and provide authorization.

We also implemented mobile applications for IOS, Android, solutions for NFC points as well as drivers to work with. We used Facebook API, sqlite was used as the database for the mobile application.

There were no devices for debugging in the very beginning of the work, so, thanks to an experienced and well-coordinated team, throughout this project we handled a small number of bugs, which we fixed before the launch of the product.

TESTING

Within a fairly short period of time it was essential to accomplish many tasks simultaneously, among which was manual testing. As there was no test point yet, we performed the first stages of testing on our own test point. Subsequently, when the system itself was completed, we performed additional testing on it. Any errors detected were corrected immediately in the course of all testing phases.
